For the last six years AJ has been building a thriving handmade soap and candle business from her Lee’s Summit studio. Using local products where ever possible, AJ is always testing and creating new blends of scents and colors to create just the right combinations in her essential oil soaps and soy candles and melts. “I recently tried to capture the look and aroma of a spring garden in a new soap, using my own blend of earthy, herbal, and sweet floral notes. I swirled the raw soap batter with three earthy colors – green, yellow and brown. I was very pleased with the results – Garden Mosaic.”As you can see, AJ’s products are intensely inspired by ‘solitude and the great outdoors.’ “A bright sunset might inspire me to copy the colors in one of my creations, or the fragrance of spring flowers might lead me to try to capture that scent in my work.”
